Where a vet’s vision turned into
Alabama’s splashiest dog playground
Jennifer and her husband, Dr. Jay, have spent years building
280 Animal Medical Center into Westover’s award-winning
vet hospital— all fueled by the belief that healthy pets are happy pets.
Behind the clinic sat an agility field where Dr. Jay would wander after a long day to watch dogs and their humans train. When they were introduced to the sport of Dock Diving in 2018, that’s when the wheels started turning: What if they could create a space where dogs could have fun while rebuilding strength, recovering from surgery, and getting back into shape?
A sketchpad turned into a blueprint, which then turned into a pool.
One year later, WestRover Water Sports was born!
WestRover is proud to be the only North American Diving Dogs facility in the State of Alabama.

At WestRover, we believe dogs thrive when they get to do what dogs were made to do: splash, jump, swim, play, and explore. Everything we’ve built here exists for one reason: to help pups grow stronger alongside the humans who love them.
Whether it’s confidence-building swim lessons, post-surgery strengthening, first-time dock diving, or agility that lights their brain up, our goal is simple:

Westover’s hub for dog agility, dock diving, and water training
Private Swim & Dock Lessons
Achieve all your training goals with customized coaching and education tailored toward yours and your pups needs. Our expert trainers will guide you and your pup through dock diving basics, swimming skills, and safe water handling at your dog’s unique pace.
Private Pool Practice
Rent the pool all to yourself for dock diving practice, conditioning swims, water confidence-building, or just a good ol’ splashing time! Perfect for exercise, rehab, or introducing your dog to water in a safe, low-pressure environment with zero distractions.
Agility Classes
Does your dog love to run and jump over furniture? Agility training will help you teach your dog how to focus. In our 4-week beginner agility class, you and your dog will learn to negotiate the agility obstacles safely. You’ll learn basic handling techniques so your dog will know where you want them to go on the agility course.

Got a social butterfly on your hands?
Our events are the perfect way for pups (and their humans!) to get out, have fun, and connect with other dog-loving adventurers in the community. Come make new friends, celebrate your dog’s progress, and be part of the WestRover pack.
